In December of 2000, just a few months after Paula and Roy met, Roy's father offered him a job at a Church Furniture Company where he was plant manager. He decided to take it on a temporary basis. Roy had always avoided manual labor jobs, but the challenges he faced were much more mentally tough than any job he had had sitting behind a desk.

Paula soon realized there was also more to this work than appeared. In late June of 2001 she left her great job in a well respected insurance agency to work with Roy in a dirty shop. In fact, her last day in that office was the same day she accepted Roy's proposal of marriage. So in a way, their marriage and their business together started at the exact same time.

By April of 2003, they had gone as far with that company as possible, Roy as Plant Manager and Paula as Shipping Supervisor. The only problem was they were in Temple Texas, too far from their family at home. In June 2003, they decided to find work closer to home. Roy went to work at R&R Millwork for Ronnie Hoover and Roy let him know that his intention was to open his own shop within 2 years. For the next 24 months, they spent almost every evening creating not only unique pieces, but new ways to build them.

In May 2005, they took the leap and opened up their own shop. By taking what they had learned in cabinetry, commercial millwork, church construction and combining them to create a product that you can only find at Furniture Worthy Of A King.

"We hold our product to a much higher standard than what we have seen throughout the industry, and we will not build a product that is not truly worthy".

WHAT OUR CHILDREN HAVE TO SAY

I am really impressed with the furniture my Mom and Dad has built for me.

Dustin - 16

My Mom and Dad has been working for years on furniture. They have built me a table with 7 chairs and a desk for my computer so if you want furniture get it from them.

Bryce - 12

My mom and dad work for Furniture Worthy of a King. They build tables, dressers, counters, and much more. They  built a dresser for me and my sister. They painted some pink hearts on it. I think it is really cool that my mom and dad built a family table for us to eat at. On the table is a spinning lazzy susan you can put lots of things on it. The first thing my mom and dad built was a birdhouse. They painted it and everything. Now they have a family website for all of us and we wrote these letters!

I realy like the dresser and chest my mom and dad made. The dresser holds: clothes and toys. It has two desks on the side of it. Me and my sister just love it. And I would want to thank them for building that much furniture for us. It makes our room look even better. Thank You !!

Morgan - 10

My mom and dad made a dreser for me and it's cool. I can put my toys in it and my books. I can set my TV on it to.
